On August 26, 2023 we celebrated the new entrance.
After NINE years of dreaming, planning, fundraising, designing and building, the remodeled North Entrance is complete. With interpretive signs and a comfortable bench, we can now share the story of this little cemetery and the people who built it with everyone who stops by. It was a grand celebration, with descendants of the Scandia community and other visitors coming together to honor the work and thank the contributors who made it possible. Here are some photos from the big day. We followed up with a trip to the Andrew Peterson Farm, where more good work is being done. (Photo above is from the 2023 Clean-up Day.)
