Andrew Peterson

Andrew Peterson was a charter member of the Scandia Baptist Church.  He and his wife Elsa raised nine children on their farm in Scandia.  Andrew is known today for the diary he kept for forty-four years, which served as an inspiration for Vilhelm Moberg’s novels on the Swedish emigrants.  The Peterson farmhouse is 1 1/2 miles east of the cemetery and open to the public.  Andrew, Elsa, and all nine children (plus a daughter-in-law) are buried in the Cemetery.
